Acupuncture can alleviate seasonal allergies

From years of experience, I have seen acupuncture play a positive role in alleviating and sometimes eliminating the symptoms caused by seasonal allergies.  Many folks come through my door as a last resort when medication and allergy shots have failed to provide the necessary relief. After an initial series of treatments my patients often comment that they are experiencing less sneezing and stuffiness and an elimination of the debilitating sinus pressure they have come to expect this time of the year.  Accompanying headaches can also be alleviated or significantly reduced in frequency with acupuncture. Often patients make time for once or twice a year “boosters” without having to rely on weekly long-term acupuncture to maintain their relief.

While I do not recommend patients cease any current medications they are using for allergy relief when they come in for initial treatments, it is our objective to use traditional Chinese methods to move them into a place of better health and less dependence on traditional medication to ensure a higher quality of life. This may also include reviewing your diet to see what foods may help alleviate your condition and which foods you may be consuming that are contributing to your allergies.
