Every organism on the planet must deal with certain core energies and functions to exist and live harmoniously. The energies that must be dealt with are: survival, growth, communication, intake of energy, processing of the intake of energy, utilization of processed energy for metabolic processes, separation of needed energy from unneeded energy or waste, elimination of waste and need for love, closeness, nurturing,  and support.

​The chakras (translated as "wheels") are energy centers that act as hubs of energy.

​In the human chakra system, there are seven major centers. 

1. Root- The foundation, the creative impulse, the instinct for survival.
2. Spleen chakra- sex drive, physical connection with outside world
3. Solar Chakra- will power, the ability and drive to make manifest one's dreams and visions, digestion and assimilation
4. Heart Chakra- The center of the interaction of the mind and emotions. Where our deepest selves reside.
5. Throat Chakra- communication of our will to the outside world, our ability to express ourselves
6. Brow Chakra- center of insight derived from our rational and non-rational selves. The third eye.
7. Crown Chakra- our connection to wider consciousness, cosmic consciousness. Our sense of connection to all things.
